Die Beastie Boys begleiten mich bereits sehr lange, seit der legendären Platte Licensed to Ill habe ich die komplette Diskographie gehört und gefeiert.Selbst das letzte Album Hot Sauce Commitee Part. 2 hat mich umgehauen, es ist bemerkenswert wie sich die drei nach 25 Jahren nochmal neu erfinden und eine absolut geniale Platte herausbringen.Als MCA 2012 leider viel zu früh verstorben ist führte das zur Bandauflösung was mich persönlich sehr traurig stimmte.Das Buch ist lange erwartet und von Michael Diamond sowie Adam Horovitz selbst verfasst, das merkt man sofort da die Texte frei von der Seele verfasst sind auch die Aufmachung der einzelnen Kapitel ganz dem Stil der Jungs entspricht. Mitreißend werden die Anfänge in New York 1979/80 erzählt inklusive des Feelings und Anekdoten während dieser Zeit, man hat das Gefühl live dabei zu sein.Es gibt wenig Bücher die mich so stark gefesselt haben und es ist eine klare Kaufempfehlung für jeden Musik und natürlich Beastie Boys Fan, da wirklich kein Detail ausgelassen wird und es tiefe Einblicke in die Spezialitäten des Musikbusinesses gibt. #RIPMCA

Diese "Bibel" ist super gestaltet und auch noch ziemlich lustig. Auch wenn man kein Fan ist, absolut interessant!
Jetzt bereits ein Klassiker. Alles über die Band, viel über die Zeit, das Umfeld, NY, und natürlich die drei Jungs.Nicht zu vergessen: die Fotos.Also: wer dieses Buch nicht hat, hat was verpasst.
